How Much Do Managed IT Services Cost?

A practical guide to managed IT pricing for businesses in the metro New Orleans area

“How much does managed IT cost?” is one of the first questions business owners ask. It deserves a straightforward answer.

For most organizations, comprehensive managed IT services from BridgeNet typically represent an investment of approximately $150 to $400 per supported user per month — depending on the size, complexity, and needs of the business.

That said, BridgeNet does not bill by the user. Clients pay a predictable flat monthly fee based on the organization as a whole. The per-user figures on this page are provided only as a practical way to compare costs across companies and service models.

Typical BridgeNet Pricing Ranges

Every organization is different. Here is how BridgeNet’s pricing generally breaks down by service level.

Standard Managed IT

$150–$200

per user per month

Single location, standard environment, limited regulatory requirements

Complex, Regulated, or Project-Inclusive

$300–$400

per user per month

Formal compliance obligations, multiple locations, manufacturing or operational technology, included project work

What Each Tier Includes

Standard Managed IT | $150–$200 per user per month

Generally appropriate for organizations with straightforward technology environments, limited regulatory obligations, and standardized systems. Typically one primary location and manageable security and recovery requirements.

A standard agreement typically includes unlimited remote and onsite support, proactive monitoring and maintenance, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint protection, email security, Microsoft 365 backup, security awareness training, dark web monitoring, DNS security, vendor coordination, employee onboarding and offboarding, and strategic technology planning.

Advanced Security & Business Continuity | $200–$300 per user per month

For organizations that require stronger cybersecurity, more sophisticated infrastructure management, or enhanced recovery capabilities. This may include businesses with sensitive or confidential information, cyber insurance requirements, multiple offices or remote employees, servers or cloud infrastructure, or a greater financial impact from downtime.

In addition to standard services, this tier may include advanced cybersecurity controls, identity protection, security log monitoring, enhanced backup and disaster recovery, compliance assistance, and lifecycle planning.

Complex, Regulated, or Project-Inclusive | $300–$400 per user per month

Reserved for organizations where technology risk, operational complexity, or included project work requires significantly greater resources. This includes businesses with formal compliance obligations, multiple locations, manufacturing or operational technology, highly distributed workforces, or a need for executive-level technology leadership.

At this level, BridgeNet is doing much more than maintaining computers and answering support calls. We are helping manage business risk, modernize systems, coordinate technology investments, support compliance efforts, and execute an ongoing technology roadmap.

Why Managed IT Pricing Varies

Ask several IT providers for pricing and you may receive very different numbers. That is usually not a sign that one is overcharging — it typically means they are not selling the same thing.

“Managed IT services” can describe a basic helpdesk with monitoring software, or a complete outsourced IT department with onsite support, advanced cybersecurity, disaster recovery, compliance guidance, and ongoing project work. Both providers may use the same label. A more mature MSP invests more heavily in people, systems, management structure, security tools, and accountability. Those investments affect the price.

THE RIGHT QUESTION

Before comparing proposals, ask what each provider is actually responsible for — not just the monthly number. A proposal at $100 per user and one at $250 may cover very different scopes. A lower monthly price is often supplemented by separate charges for onsite work, projects, after-hours support, and cybersecurity services.

What Affects Your Specific Price

Employee count matters, but it does not tell the whole story. A 30-person professional office at one location may require a very different level of support than a 30-person manufacturer with multiple facilities, production systems, and regulatory obligations.

Cybersecurity and Compliance Requirements

Businesses handling financial, medical, legal, or other sensitive information often require stronger controls. Greater risk and responsibility means greater investment — particularly for organizations navigating cyber insurance requirements, customer security questionnaires, or industry-specific regulatory obligations.

Number and Complexity of Locations

Supporting one standardized office is different from supporting several offices, warehouses, jobsites, or remote teams. Additional locations add networks, firewalls, wireless systems, vendors, and recovery complexity.

Your Current Technology Environment

Organizations with properly maintained systems are easier to support than companies carrying aging equipment, inconsistent configurations, or years of accumulated technical debt. An initial assessment identifies gaps that must be addressed during onboarding or through an agreed technology roadmap.

Downtime and Recovery Expectations

Every organization says downtime is important, but the actual consequences vary. A company that can tolerate several hours of disruption has different requirements from one that must resume operations quickly after a server failure, cyberattack, or weather event. Faster recovery objectives require more advanced backup systems, redundant infrastructure, and regular restore testing.

Projects Included in the Agreement

Some agreements cover only support and maintenance. More comprehensive agreements include qualifying technology projects, lifecycle improvements, and modernization work. Including projects creates a more predictable technology budget but increases the monthly investment.

Common IT Pricing Models

Not every IT provider prices services the same way. Understanding the differences helps you compare proposals accurately.

Hourly / Break-Fix

You pay when something goes wrong. This may appear inexpensive during quiet months, but the provider earns more when you experience more problems. Preventive maintenance, cybersecurity planning, and strategic guidance are generally not included. Appropriate for businesses with capable internal IT staff that only need occasional outside help — not the right model for organizations that depend heavily on technology.

Per-Device Pricing

A monthly charge for each workstation, server, or network device. Can create complicated invoices and may not accurately reflect security exposure, compliance obligations, or recovery requirements. BridgeNet does not use per-device pricing for comprehensive managed IT agreements.

Flat-Fee Managed IT Partnership

BridgeNet provides managed IT services for one agreed flat monthly fee. Your proposal establishes a supported organization size — such as up to 25 users — rather than charging separately for every employee, computer, server, or support request. This provides a predictable monthly expense, room for normal staffing fluctuations, and no incentive to avoid calling for help.

Is BridgeNet the Lowest-Cost Option?

Probably not.

BridgeNet is built for organizations that treat technology as an important business function rather than an unavoidable expense. Our clients expect responsive support, strong cybersecurity, proactive planning, clear accountability, predictable costs, and a local team that understands their business.

We are a strong fit for organizations that want to reduce cybersecurity and operational risk, improve employee productivity, minimize disruptions, modernize aging systems, and meet compliance and insurance requirements. We are probably not the right fit for businesses looking for the least expensive helpdesk or support only when something breaks.
